Nappy Changing Time

• Always use nappy pins with washable nappies. Any other pins may pop open and hurt your baby.


• The safest place to change your baby's nappy is on a mat on the floor.


• Babies love bare bottoms, so leave them without a nappy on whenever possible. This helps air to reach into the skin and also prevents nappy rash.


• Always wash your hands after changing nappies and before applying nappy cream.


• Change your baby's nappies frequently, preferably before or after each feed.


• Ensure that the skin creases are cleaned carefully


• Use wet cotton wool to clean up your baby. Wipes are useful when travelling


• Dry carefully after cleaning


• When cleaning a boy, don't pull the foreskin of the penis back


• Always clean a girl from front to back to ensure that bacteria don't pass from the anus to the vagina
