Nappy Changing Time
- Always use nappy pins with washable nappies. Any other pins may pop open and hurt your baby.
- The safest place to change your baby's nappy is on a mat on the floor.
- Babies love bare bottoms, so leave them without a nappy on whenever possible. This helps air to reach into the skin and also prevents nappy rash.
- Always wash your hands after changing nappies and before applying nappy cream.
- Change your baby's nappies frequently, preferably before or after each feed.
- Ensure that the skin creases are cleaned carefully
- Use wet cotton wool to clean up your baby. Wipes are useful when travelling
- Dry carefully after cleaning
- When cleaning a boy, don't pull the foreskin of the penis back
- Always clean a girl from front to back to ensure that bacteria don't pass from the anus to the vagina
