Nine Months : Cot Death
Cot Death
A few babies die every year unexpectedly and suddenly in
their cots. This is known as cot death or the Sudden Infant
Death Syndrome. Although there is no clear explanation, a
few precautions are known to reduce the risk of cot
deaths.
Precautions
- Always put babies to sleep on their backs as this is
regarded as the safest position by doctors
- Place your baby in the feet-to-foot position in the
cot
- Don't let your baby get too hot or cold.
- Don't allow anyone to smoke around your baby or in
the baby's room.
- Don't use a pillow for under two year olds as this
could smother them.
- Remove all packaging from the mattress.
